I am THRILLED to finally be able to tell you that MY FIRST BOOK, entitles MY SHIT THERAPIST AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH STORIES, will be OUT IN MAY 2019!!!
And...YOU COULD BE IN IT! When I suffered my first major depressive episode in 2013, I read, watched and listened to everything I could get her hands on in an effort to fix myself. God, it was tedious. Frankly it was depressing, which was the last thing I needed. I wanted to write a book that mimics the franks, honest, and funny conversations I've had with my mates about the ways that navigating mental illness impacts every area of your life, from medication and therapy to mates and dates and work stuff. And this is it! The most helpful thing for me was hearing other people's stories about their experiences, from choosing a therapist, to managing money, and dating with a mental illness. That's why I'm asking YOU to share your story with me for inclusion in this book. Seen a therapist who asked you to draw your problem with crayons? Ever lost money because of your mental health? Ever phoned the Samaritans from your car because you don't want anyone to know? Ever been prescribed literature by a GP for depression? Email your story to myshittherapist @ gmail.com, and the good people at Bonnier Books UK will pass it on to me, and you might end up in a book with a swear word in the title! You can stay anonymous if you prefer, it's entirely up to you, just make sure you make that clear in your contribution. Please read terms and conditions before you post your contribution on myshittherapist @ gmail.com I will also be popping up across the UK for live events where we can have a chat about mental health, the first will be THIS SUNDAY IN BLACKPOOL! Stay tuned for more info! I can't tell you how excited I am about this. It's been a long time coming, and I can't wait to share it with you all xx #mentalhealth #mentalillness #anxiety #depression #myshittherapist #therapy #medication LEGALESE - PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU CONTRIBUTE MY SHIT THERAPIST AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH STORIES by Michelle Thomas (Lagom/May 2019): T&Cs By submitting information and/or comments to the email address myshittherapist@gmail.com, you are granting Bonnier Books UK a perpetual, royalty-free non-exclusive licence to modify, use, publish, store and copy that contribution (whether in printed, digital, audio or other format for commercial, promotional or other purposes) and to distribute and make it available to third parties in order for them to do the same by means of licence, sale or otherwise in all languages throughout the world.
